Eat-N-Park opened. I'm always eager to try new foods. I decided to take the kids for lunch one afternoon. We had a tasty meal but the real highlight of the visit, was the cute smiley cookies the waitress brought for each one of my kids. I thanked her, she explained they were part of the kids meals. Eat-N-Park serves over 1 million Smiley Cookies per year!! That's a lot of yummy cookies! My kids demolished those cookies in lightening speed. I now understand why they are called, Smiley cookies. Adults and kids alike, have a bright big smile across their face when eating them! At my kids request, I asked them to box up a dozen cookies for us to take home. Over the years, I would pick up Smiley cookies for classroom treats. My favorite Smiley Cookie, is the month of October. The Smiley Cookies are decorated in Halloween colors, candied corn is used for the eyes and nose. They are a huge hit in my kids classroom Halloween parties.
When, we decided to move from Ohio to Texas, I realized, I was quite a distance from my favorite cookies. I bought a few dozen before we moved to take with me. Each vacation trip I would also stock up on them for the return trip home. My husband, would laugh when unloading the truck from vacation. He would say," I see you brought back your favorite cookies!"
Then I discovered www.smileycookie.com!! I can now order my favorite cookies and have them delivered. I no longer have to wait for my bi-annual road trip to enjoy my favorite frosted sugar cookies.
SmileyCookie.com sent me a dozen of their custom cookies. I was so excited and beyond impressed!! The day they were delivered, it was 104 degrees, here in Texas. The cookies were perfectly fresh, despite the heat. They were so tasty! I have to admit, I really wanted to hide them from the kids to enjoy all to myself, because they are just that good! Then I remembered, I can always order more!
This is the cute box they arrived in. I am always looking for ways to upcycle. I will be using it as a way to store photos when the cookies are gone! My kids were so happy to have a smiley cookie after their lunch. You can pop them in the microwave for 10 seconds to restore that fresh baked warm sensation. I really like that the sugar cookies don't contain any preservatives or trans-fats. I have been trying to only consume foods without them, in my journey to live green. Smiley Cookies are also peanut free and made in a nut free facility. If you have anyone with a nut allergy, these would be safe for them to enjoy. This is also another reason, they are good to send to school for a class treat, since more schools are banning treats containing peanuts.
